Sony Ericsson S700 with 1.3 MP camera has been announced for 4Q2004 - the next big thing from SE ?

TheRegister writes about it aswell and thinks, that

The trick is making cheap material feel expensive.

Imaging is a key function of the S700. It includes a 1.3 megapixel digital camera activated by opening a sliding lens cap, which is equipped with a photo light, 8x digital zoom and 1280 x 960 resolution, previews of which are available on the 2.3-inch 262k TFT colour screen running at an amazing 240 x 320. Video clips can also be captured.

Images can be saved to a Memory Stick Duo card, or transmitted by Bluetooth or infrared.

The S700 features the same 3D Java engine found earlier today in the K700, and comes complete with embedded games. Additional titles can be downloaded to the phone. Other features include 40 polyphonic ringtones, an MP3 player and DJ-style ring-tone composer.

Under the hood, the S700 is a tri-band 900/1800/1900 MHz GSM handset with Class 10 GPRS. It measures 107.5 x 49 x 24.5 mm and weighs 137 g. It claims 300 hours (12.5 days) of standby or 7 hours of talktime, and will be available Q4 2004.

The P800 successor the P900really has hit the mainstream. And for that, the sleek and much more professional design must take credit.
